Regardless of where a person stands on the iterating vs copying issue, can we all just appreciate how much of himself Chase brings to his work? I think we were all feeling the dopamine at the beginning before the bottom dropped out and Chase just didn’t have it in him to continue with the same energy. I’m here for the realness. Curious to know if others appreciate the emotional investment or if they like a more emotionally distanced review with just the facts.
I don’t usually comment on YT videos but I had to say your stream of consciousness feedback on texture and material both cracks me up and gives me exactly the kind of honest quirky real time feedback I want 😂😌 also agreed, kinda judging Mopak for copying so hard. This def sold me on the duffel though 👀
I have been using the Mopak Sling for 2 months now and really like the texture and design of the Mopak bag. I think good design and quality is the best proof.
I was just thinking about looking at some new backpacks and the bag god uploads 15 mins before I look. Nice. Also, I actually like the Bellroy alternative. Especially since Bellroy stopped doing the kind of light gray colour on its classic range. Mine got ruined and I’ve not been able to cop a decent light colour backpack ever since, so that beige version of Mopak’s is pretty appealing. Cheers, Chase.
"What you connect to" That is very important. But I apreciate a look of what it is out there, too. A good design is so important, too... These seems solid bags to me.
I love the bags and I love your channel Chase. Still sad you left PDX. I am happy because of Field Notes sponsoring the video, gotta love the Oregon Company. Their paper that withstands rain and can be written on without smudging is a field geographers dream! You have a link, so I will check that out when I need more commonplace books. I am thinking of checking out that weekender.
Love Chase specifically because of how much of himself he brings to every production. Also ADHD recognizes ADHD. I don’t see this in the same way at all. It’s straps and hidden water bottle pockets. I owned the Transit for a while and wound up returning it because of little things I couldn’t really justify given the price even though it felt nice. I think I probably prefer this one but wouldn’t buy it because I didn’t like having to unzip pockets to get to my water bottle. This was one bag out of three, one of which had a truly innovative feature I’ve never seen before at really nice price points. Using the phrase “copycat company” even in saying “I don’t think they are one” seems overly harsh. On the plus, I went to their website and really liked the look of their ther backpack.
I am AuDHD, It must be my ADHD and autism that keeps me watching his videos, even the ones that were so long. However, I would always get a little bit of a dopamine kick, with the magnets, dongles, and you know ummm papers… I do not know if he has ADHD, however he fits the best in my niche of RUclipsr bag reviewers. Bags are one of my special interests. I have so many I cannot possibly use them all. However, I know if I send them to a charity store where I live, they would be just be gathering dust. I usually take them home to Oregon, and give them to my brother or sister in law, or my nieces. They will use them more than I will.
I bought that sling and I also own two Bellroy ventures, at least the sling is really different, it’s like the opposite of the more “one cavity” Bellroys. The backpack looks similar to the transit though, just not clamshell. They did make two changes, one the handle on the Mopak is wide enough to be used as a luggage pass through and I own a bellroy venture 22l, the handle looks the same but you can't fit the luggage handle in there. 2nd change is the quick access on the top can be accessed from either side, the Bellroy you can only swing and get to it from one shoulder. Price is nice, i wonder if the laptop area is suspended? I like that duffel, pity no luggage pass through, I like to use duffels as companions to roller bags vs backpacks.
But I don't think Mopak copied Bellroy on the backpack, I started using Mopak last month and this backpack is at least a little bit higher grade than Bellroy in terms of fabric feel, at least it feels like 1200D fabric to the touch. I suspect they went to the same supplier for the backpack system... So the backs look the same.
This had me DYING. Actually laughing out loud on the back of the train. I totally felt the air in the room shift lmao

For me, was the sling that reminded me to Bellroy

Did Bellroy patent that back panel?
Would the duffle fit under a seat
Nice video..I Hope You Review Legazy bags from the Philippines

07:49 UMBRELLA!
Can the sling fit an ipad mini?
I own the sling. Yes it does.
Clearly, the designers are fans of Bellroy. Perhaps, a little too much of an homage for me.

Yeah, I wouldn't even give them the traffic.
🤘🏻
Wow. They are just copying everyone. Sad that this is even allowed
